As a first generation college student, I studied Engineering at Tufts University. I became involved in STEM education as a fellow for the Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) and coordinated educational events as President of the Society of Latino Engineers and Scientist (SOLES). Upon graduation, I joined initiatives that focused on access to STEM experiences (primarily Makerspaces) for underserved communities at my hometown of Los Angeles.
I was inspired to learn the process of designing tools and spaces that foster impactful learning opportunities. This led me to pursue a masters in Learning, Design, and Technology (LDT) at Stanford University. Intrigued my the intersection of research and design, I continued my education as a PhD student at UC Irvine School of Education. |
